Render Capital Invests $250,000 In Kare Mobile – The Uber of Dentistry

We are excited to announce a $250,000 investment in Kare Mobile, a local startup that provides mobile dentistry services in Jefferson County and surrounding areas.

Founded in 2018 as a mobile app connecting patients to dentists, Kare Mobile has since shifted its focus to more directly improving access to the oral health of underserved populations that have been particularly hard hit by the rising cost of dental operations. It is doing so through its use of its Kare-branded, fully equipped vans that can travel directly to patients and provide remote dentistry services. The vans are complete with all necessary tools and equipment so patients receive safe, expert care with every visit.

Kare Mobile has seen over 1,000 patients and, with the help of this investment, will be able to expand their services nationally, including to Atlanta, Georgia; Dallas, Texas; Detroit, Michigan; Las Vegas, Nevada and Tampa, Florida. The expansion will also help them with the creation of a scheduler optimization software system that is going to help them better map out routes and logistics for the drivers.

“I’m extremely thankful to the Render Capital team for believing in us and stepping in to support our initiative, which is going to help us continue to make a difference in this region, and now,  nationally,” – Dr. Kwane Watson, founder and CEO of Kare Mobile.

After struggling to get capital for three years, Kare Mobile has now received investments from both Render Capital and Lightship Capital, a venture capital fund out of Cincinnati, Ohio.

“At Render Capital, we aim to unlock more access to capital for entrepreneurs so they can grow their businesses, and we were proud to help make this happen for Kare Mobile,” – Moses Icyishaka, Principal, Render Capital.

Before founding Kare Mobile, the company’s CEO, Dr. Kwane Watson, had been a practicing dentist in the West Louisville community for 21 years and was the first dentist to open in Norton Commons. After selling his practices in 2016, Watson began work on the Kare Mobile initiative with a goal not to compete with other dentists, but rather to help providers increase their own profitability. He now serves as the President of the American Mobile Dental and Teledentistry Alliance, a nationally focused organization, as well as the President of the Kentucky Dental Society, an affiliation of the National Dental Society. Additionally, he serves on the Advisory Board of Dentistry IQ. Learn more about Kare Mobile,
